T-Mobile call forwarding codes and setup
T-Mobile uses GSM codes for call forwarding. Dial the code below, wait for confirmation, and calls route wherever you point them. There is no app required, though T-Mobile does let you manage forwarding from your account too.
The GSM system gives you real control: forward every call, forward only the ones you miss, or set your phone to ring a few times first and forward only if you do not pick up. That last mode is what most people actually want.
Metro by T-Mobile, Mint Mobile, Google Fi, and the other brands on the T-Mobile network use these exact same codes.

The forwarding codes

Open setupControl how many rings before it forwards
T-Mobile supports a no-answer timer, so your phone can ring a set number of times before an unanswered call forwards. Ring twice and forward, ring five times and forward, your choice. This is the setting that lets you keep grabbing calls when you are free while nothing lands in voicemail when you are not.
The number of rings is fiddly to set by hand, so the NextPhone app dials the exact code for the ring count you pick. The plain forward-all and forward-missed codes are shown above if you would rather type them yourself.
The same codes cover Metro, Mint, and Google Fi
Because Metro, Mint, Google Fi, Ultra Mobile, and dozens of other brands ride the T-Mobile network, they inherit T-Mobile forwarding codes. If a guide tells you Mint or Metro needs some special sequence, it does not. Use the codes above.
Google Fi is the one mild exception: it also has its own in-app forwarding, and Fi voicemail can behave differently. If the dial code does not stick on Fi, set forwarding in the Fi app instead.
iPhone Live Voicemail can intercept the call
On iPhone, T-Mobile lets you toggle forwarding from Settings, Phone. If forwarding looks set but calls still hit voicemail, Live Voicemail is answering on the device first. Turn it off under Settings, Phone, Live Voicemail, then re-enter your code.
After the call forwards
The forwarding code is the plumbing. The value is what picks up on the other end. Send your T-Mobile line to a NextPhone number and an AI receptionist answers in under five seconds and runs the whole call.
It books, answers questions, captures who called and why, and texts you a summary the moment the call ends. Across 1.4 million-plus calls, NextPhone resolves 90 to 95 percent on its own and routes the rest to you with context. Unlimited calls, flat 199 dollars a month.
