Cox call forwarding codes and setup

Cox Home Phone gives you three separate forwarding modes from the handset, more than most cable voice services. Forward every call, forward only when your line is busy, or forward only when you do not answer. The codes are shown above.

That extra control is handy for a small business. You can let the phone ring on your desk, catch what you can, and have only the busy and unanswered calls roll to a receptionist. No portal required for any of it.

Dial the code from your Cox handset, wait for the confirmation tone, and you are set.

Three modes, all from the handset

The all-calls code forwards everything, so your Cox phone never rings. The no-answer code rings your phone first and forwards only the calls you do not pick up. Cox also has a busy-line code, so calls that arrive while you are already on the phone forward instead of getting a busy signal.

Each mode has its own on and off code, listed above straight from the same data our app uses. Mix them if you want: no-answer plus busy-line together means you catch every call you can and never drop the rest.

Which mode a small business usually wants

If you want the line handed off completely, use all-calls. If you want to keep answering when you are free, use no-answer so the phone rings a few times first. Adding busy-line on top is the belt-and-suspenders option that covers the moment two calls come in at once.

After the call forwards

Once the call forwards, something has to answer it well. Send your Cox line to a NextPhone number and an AI receptionist picks up in under five seconds and takes it from there.

It answers questions, books jobs, and captures who called and what they needed, then texts and emails you the summary. NextPhone has answered more than 1.4 million calls, resolves 90 to 95 percent without needing you, and runs a flat 199 dollars a month with unlimited calls.
