Lawcus + NextPhone: the inquiry enters your pipeline on the call

NextPhone answers your firm's phone and runs your intake. When the call ends, Zapier files the caller into Lawcus as a lead with every answer, the call summary and a recording link, ready to enter the matter workflow you already built.

Overview

Lawcus organizes a firm around workflows: leads, matters and tasks moving through stages you define. That works when things enter the pipeline properly. NextPhone answers the phone and makes sure they do: the AI runs your intake, and when the call ends a Zap files the inquiry as a lead with every answer, the summary, the transcript and a recording link. What enters your pipeline is a real record, not a name and a callback number someone will have to chase.

How it works

The phone rings at 6:50pm. NextPhone answers, asks what your firm asks for that kind of inquiry, and learns this is a new caller. When the call ends, the Zap creates a lead carrying the intake answers, the summary, the transcript and a recording link. It enters the pipeline at whatever stage you have set for new inquiries, and your team works it in the morning with the context already on the card.

Capabilities

  • Keeps returning clients out of new leads - the AI asks whether the caller is already a client, and you choose which call outcomes reach Lawcus, so a returning client is not filed as a second, new lead
  • Files the inquiry as a lead - when the call ends, Lawcus's own Zapier app creates the lead with your intake attached, ready to be worked or converted to a matter
  • Your intake, per practice area - the questions and their order are yours, and a family law first call asks different things than an estate one
  • Feeds the workflow you already built - Lawcus is built around visual pipelines, and an inquiry that arrives with real data enters that pipeline properly instead of stalling at the first stage
  • The full conversation attached - summary, transcript and a recording link, so whoever picks it up has the first call rather than a message
  • Answers every hour - nights, weekends and holidays handled, reaching Lawcus through the same Zap a daytime call uses

A workflow only works if the first stage is real

Pipelines break at the entry point. When a lead is created from a voicemail it has a name, a number and nothing else, so the first stage becomes "call them back and find out what they want", which is the work the pipeline was supposed to remove.

An inquiry that arrives already qualified starts further along. The stage that follows is the decision itself.

Setup is done for your firm

Our team builds the Zap that maps your intake questions onto your Lawcus fields, sets which stage new inquiries enter at, and decides which call outcomes create a record at all. You describe how you want callers handled; we do the configuration.

Frequently asked questions

Does every call create a lead in Lawcus?

Only the outcomes you choose. Wrong numbers, solicitors and existing-client calls can be handled without creating anything.

Will returning callers be duplicated?

NextPhone does not search Lawcus during the call. The AI asks whether the caller is an existing client, and existing-client calls can be kept out of the Zap so they are not filed as new leads.

Which Lawcus plan is needed?

One that lets you use Lawcus's Zapier app. Lawcus lists API access from its Growth plan, so check with Lawcus if you are on Essential before connecting.

Do we get the recording?

Yes. A recording link, the transcript and the call summary arrive along with every intake answer.
