Davinci Virtual sells two things: a live receptionist service, and virtual office addresses with mail handling. If you're comparing them as an answering service, one fact settles most of it.
Their live receptionists work 8am to 8pm Eastern, Monday to Friday. Nights, weekends and holidays get an automated attendant. If you need a person answering at 9pm on a Saturday, that isn't what's being sold. NextPhone answers every hour of the year on flat monthly plans from $199.

Davinci Virtual pricing

| Plan | Monthly | Live minutes | Overage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business 50 (most popular) | $129 | 50 | $1.75/min |
| Business 100 | $239 | 100 | $1.75/min |
| Premium 50 | $249 | 50 | $2.50/min |
| Premium 100 | $319 | 100 | $2.50/min |
Setup is $95 one-time for the receptionist product. Business plans include two phone numbers, live answering, call forwarding and screening, voicemail management, call routing, unlimited long distance and online fax. Premium adds appointment scheduling, outbound calling, order processing and bilingual receptionists.
Note where bilingual sits: Premium only, from $249/month. MAP Communications includes English and Spanish on every plan starting at $179.
Two things they do better than most
They publish the overage rate, on their FAQ and again in their terms: "Additional live receptionist time is only $1.75 per minute for Business plans and $2.50 per minute for Premium plans."
And they bill by the second. From their FAQ:
"We actually base our call volume on per second increments, not per minute increments. So if we answer and forward a call in 3 seconds, it only counts as 3 seconds."
That's a real advantage worth stating plainly. Most of this category rounds every call up to a whole minute — AnswerForce, MAP and Alert Communications all do. A 61-second call costs Davinci's competitors two minutes and costs Davinci 61 seconds.
The coverage limit
From Davinci's own receptionist FAQ:
"Our live receptionist team answers calls for you during coast to coast business hours (8 am - 8 pm EST) Monday through Friday. 24x7 automated support is included complimentary."
Twelve hours a day, five days a week. That's 60 of the week's 168 hours — about 36%.
For a business whose customers call during office hours, that may be fine and the low entry price reflects it. For a law firm, it's the wrong shape: the calls that matter most arrive after an accident, after an arrest, or on a Sunday, and those reach an automated attendant.
Where it gets complicated: the other half of the business
Most Davinci complaints aren't about the phone service at all. Across roughly 45 low-star reviews on three platforms, almost none concern call handling or the receptionists. The complaint mass sits on the virtual office and mail side — and since the two are cross-sold hard, it's worth knowing before you sign up for either.
The contract terms differ by product. From their terms:
"For Davinci Communications Services, the Initial Term is one month... For Davinci Virtual Locations, Davinci Virtual Offices, Davinci Virtual Meeting Room packages and Davinci Virtual Mail Box services, the Initial Term of this Agreement is six months."
And switching locations resets it: "If Client chooses to switch Virtual Office Location related services during any term of agreement, agreement term shall start again for a 6 months term at time of switch."
The locations aren't Davinci's. They're third-party operators — Regus among them, which shows on Davinci's own location pages. Customers repeatedly report not knowing this at signup. One, October 2025:
"Davinci Virtual outsources all of their office spaces to third-party providers, which is not made clear when signing up... you end up having to coordinate with another company that actually owns or manages the location."
The add-ons stack. A representative location page lists weekly mail forwarding at $50/month, mail scanning at $50/month, a lobby listing at $170 setup plus $65/month, and — the one that lands hardest against a "$49 a month" headline — a $13/month "Mail Pick Up Fee (required for mail pick up)." A monthly charge for permission to collect your own mail.
And the upsell is the recurring complaint. From a March 2026 reviewer who wanted only a virtual address for a Google Business listing:
"At each step of the process Google had additional roadblocks for which your DaVinci had another add-on... Instead each time another roadblock presented itself they blamed Google and sold another add-on."
Cancellation takes 30 days' written notice, by email or certified mail only, with no proration. A widely-repeated "$250 cancellation fee" appears in customer complaints but is not in Davinci's published terms — treat it as an allegation, not a published charge.
